Grandma, four others on murder charge

A 66-year-old woman, four students, including the woman’s grandson were arrested by the CID over the alleged killing of a lawyer at Maharagama on December 9, 2004.

CID sources said the lawyer had appeared for the other party in a land case and as the case was going against her she is supposed to have got the lawyer killed. The suspects were produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate and remanded.
