Is there anybody who remembers, or knows anybody who remembers anything about the evacuation of school children (and anybody else) from Colombo during WWII?

Which areas were they sent to? How long were they evacuees for? Any info in this area would be greatly appreciated.

The evacuation was part of placing Ceylon on a war footing by the then Govenor, Sir Andrew Caldecott.

As in my previous post, I need this information for a novel I am writing.

Many thanks to Rohan2 for furnishing me with info on my first topic.
