"No More Tears Sister," a documentary by Helene Klodawsky that chronicles the life of renowned human rights activist Dr. Rajani Thiranagama, who was assassinated at the age of 35 during the violent ethnic conflict that has enveloped Sri Lanka for decades, will have its national broadcast premiere on Tuesday, June 27th. The film is a part of the 19th season of P.O.V., the showcase for independent documentaries, on PBS

We have produced an extensive companion website – www.pbs.org/pov/nomoretears – that features an overview of the history of the conflict in Sri Lanka, interviews with members of Human Rights Watch and the University Teachers for Human Rights (Jaffna), excerpts from letters written by Dr. Thiranagama during the late 1980s shortly before her death, interviews with her family members and links to a variety of websites focusing on Sri Lanka, the Tamil Tigers and the plight of women involved in similar conflicts around the world.

We hope that you watch the P.O.V. broadcast of “No More Tears Sister” on Tuesday, June 27 at 10 PM (check local listings) on most PBS stations.
