Eight officers and 125 other ranks after successful completion of their training received their laurels in Jaffna, infusing a new vigor of life to the sphere of infantry.

The concept behind the Regiment “Marching forward with vigor and determination” as the motto attracted 3rd Light Infantry Battalion, 10th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Battalion, 4th Gajaba Regiment Battalion along with members of the 5th & 6th Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and incorporated under 1st , 2nd & 3rd Mechanized Infantry Regiment.
