Six gold Buddha statues recovered

The Kandaketiya police have arrested a woman soothsayer and her son for possessing six gold Buddha statues and a gold bowl worth over a million rupees.

OIC Kandaketiya police M.U.S. Godamunne said the woman had stated that she had seen in a trance, the items buried in her house, which she unearthed. Police however suspect she had stolen them. The suspects were produced in court and remanded.
