More than a million Sri Lankans - roughly 1 in every 19 citizens - now work abroad, and nearly 600,000 are housemaids. The women often leave indebted, work virtually indentured and have almost no legal redress against the sexual harassment, confinement or physical abuse they often suffer in the countries they adopt.

Sri Lankan underworld gangs thrived in seventies supported by corrupt politicians creating a different crime and fear culture in the Lankan society. Underprivileged youths were given money and protection to get dirty jobs done. Different gangs were formed. If the politicians are to be exposed or in case of betrayal the ruthless masters will silent the obedient underworld servants without no hesitation. For the tricked and trapped gangs there is no way out than survive with the weapons until they die young...
